The tiny town of Montalcino with a small population of 5131. The exuberant architecture, typical for Tuscany. Over the rampart lie sunny hills where the Brunello grape ripens and where the excellent Brunello di Montalcino is made.
For a long time Brunello was considered a unique grape variety, but by this time it's been recognized as none other than Sangiovese Grosso. Which, by the way, does not hinder the uniqueness in any way. It's the masters who truly matter.
